Deer Antlers DIY wall decor

Hi Guys, it’s about time for a new tutorial, yay! I bought this beautfiful deer skull with some cute antlers on a flea market. Yes, I do love flea markets. Basically 90% my DIY’s are created due to flea market finds, haha.

Alright let me show you what I did here. When I bought my deer skull it was already dismantled from the base which is actually pretty neat for which I was planning to due anyways. (Also it was a lot cheaper that way) Before I used the Deer Antlers for this tutorial I created this demon halloween selfie with the dismantled piece as a head piece. How multi functional!

I didn’t like the natural wood finish on the base and wanted to spice it up a bit.

As you can see the base still had some old glue on it.

It’s very important to sand off all the bumps and get it nice and smooth. It’n not only prettier that way but also makes it easier for the paint to hold on the wood.

Now you can grab whatever paint you like to color your base. I used a bronze metallic acryl shade that I scored on sale a while ago. Yay to super cheap DIY’s, right?

You might need two coats depending on what color you choose. After the paint has fully tried you can use a hot glue gun to glue the skull back onto the base.

And that’s all that is to it. The whole thing took about 2h with drying time for the paint and did cost under 8$!
