Two Ingredients Clay Mask

Luckily I’m blessed with pretty good skin but once in a while I do need to nourish my skin a bit. A healing clay mask is a real wonder worker at doing so. It’s all natural and made out of only two key ingredients. If you please you can add any ingredient that works well on your skin. I added a list of things that you could add to the clay mask if you feel like it. As I get older I notice how important it is to take care of myself (which includes my skin and my general health as well). A clay mask can help treat acne, blackheads and pimples, cleans the skin and helps against skin-, muscle- and joint pain as well as inflammations. See? A real natural silver bullet!
Clay Mask

In Germany it’s called “Healing earth”(Heilerde) which is used for decades against impure skin. It is particularly easy and cheap to make a healing clay mask yourself. You don’t have to buy those expensive little premade packs anymore. This mask is degreasing and works as a deep pore cleansing. This clay mask should have no side effects but it can dry out your skin so you should moisturize afterwards or add additional ingredients listed below which will help moisturize your skin. On the other hand the drying effect is a plus if you have oily skin.
In less than 2 Minutes you can make a healing clay mask which cleans and simultaneously works anti-inflammatory. Let’s get to it!

Clay Mask Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon clay powder (I used this one) the brand is Luvos Heilerde 2
  • 2 teaspoons water

Additionally you can add things like:

  •  jojoba oil, lavender oil, honey

Clay Mask

Instructions
  1. Mix clay powder and water in a small bowl until you have a thick paste.
  2. Apply to skin with fingers or a makeup brush.
  3. Leit it dry for 10 minutes. It will get a lighter color.
  4. For a powerful peeling and exfoliating effect gently rub it off after drying. The gentler way is to rinse the mask with water. You should moisturize afterwards.
  5. Use 2-3 times a week.

Apply the paste to your face but avoid the eye and mouth area. The clay will harden once applied and your skin will feel tight. While the mask dries the skin will be better supplied with blood and the cells get an extra load of nutrients and oxygen. At the same time the skin absorbs the minerals from the earth. If you mix it with oil it will need about 20 minutes and it will not fully dry trough. Dap it off with a moist towel if your skin is really sensitive.

It will take a few masks until you will feel and see a difference. Just be patient 🙂
